Opal was officially welcome by the Minister of Tourism Laura Khazen Lahoud

When Miss World Opal Suchata learned she would be traveling to Lebanon, she was filled with excitement. Not only would she reunite with her friend Nada Koussa, who will soon crown her successor, but she was also eager to finally experience a country she had always heard so much about, a place rich in history, diversity, and extraordinary cuisine.

Opal flew from London to Beirut in MEA’s business class, where she was treated like royalty. She even had the opportunity to meet the pilots and witness the landing from the cockpit. “It was incredible to see Cyprus on one side, Turkey on the other, Syria nearby, and then the sparkling lights of the Lebanese coast! It felt like the maps I studied in International Relations coming alive before my eyes,” she said.

Upon arrival, she was warmly greeted by her friend Nada Koussa, a Top 20 finalist at Miss World and Top 5 in Asia & Oceania, along with Yasmina Zaytoun, Miss World 1st runner-up and Miss World Asia from Lebanon in 2024, representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and LBCI Television. Still at the VIP lounge of the airport, Opal gave a live interview broadcast across the nation, sharing her excitement with the people of Lebanon.

Later, she was taken to the rooftop of the historic Albergo Hotel, where she enjoyed dinner, caught up with Nada, and met with LBCI professionals. “What struck me immediately was the warm, hospitable vibe of the Lebanese people. They are so kind and friendly, it truly felt like reconnecting with old friends,” Opal shared.

After a good night’s rest, Opal received an official welcome from Minister of Tourism Laura Khazen Lahoud at the prestigious ATCL in Jounieh. Over a traditional Lebanese lunch, the Minister presented Opal with the itinerary prepared for her visit. “It is an honor to welcome Miss World to our country and, through her, to share Lebanon’s beauty with the entire world. Our message is simple: everyone is welcome here. Come and discover Lebanon, a land of wonders and rich culture,” the Minister said.

Opal expressed her gratitude and admiration, adding: “Everywhere we go, we have a breathtaking view of the sea. It fills my soul. I’m in love with this country and will certainly return soon to explore even more.”

In the afternoon, Miss World joined the other judges to interact with the contestants competing for Miss Lebanon 2025.
