IT library and Duna Tapari factory launched in Phalewas

Miss World Nepal 2025, Luna Luitel, has inaugurated two initiatives under her Beauty With a Purpose project in the community of Phalewas.
On April 27, Luitel opened an IT library at Shree Janata School. The facility provides students with access to learning resources in a school that previously had no library or educational materials. The initiative follows earlier findings that 65 children shared two toilets and lacked basic infrastructure. The project aims to support education in a safer and more structured environment.
The IT library construction began in February and has now been completed and handed over to the school.
On April 28, Luitel inaugurated the Duna Tapari Factory. “Duna” refers to a bowl and “tapari” to a plate in Nepali. These items are made from woven leaves and are commonly used in Nepal. The factory provides income opportunities for women in the Phalewas community, supporting financial independence.
The initiative also promotes the use of biodegradable products and preserves traditional weaving practices.
In a statement, Miss Nepal Organisation said the project connects digital education with local industry, creating a model for community development.
Luitel will represent Nepal at the 73rd Miss World Festival, to be held in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5.
