The Miss World India has spent months traveling across remote tribal regions of India, raising awareness about the challenges faced by indigenous communities.
Miss World India 2025, Nikita Porwal, has been traveling across remote tribal regions of India as part of her Beauty With a Purpose project, “MAATI: Empowering the Keepers of Our Roots.” Through the initiative, she has immersed herself in local communities, listening to stories, participating in daily tasks, and building connections with tribal women and children.
Porwal said the project was created from the belief that “the people closest to our roots should never remain the furthest from opportunity.” Through MAATI, she aims to support tribal communities with greater access and opportunities while preserving their cultural identity.
The initiative has already drawn attention for its focus on community empowerment, offering a closer look at the realities faced by indigenous populations in different regions of India.
Nikita continues this important work on her journey to Vietnam, where she will represent India at the 75th Anniversary Edition of Miss World, August 9 to September 5.
