Kelcia Nelson introduced Her First Lesson, an initiative designed to build confidence, self-worth, and leadership skills among girls aged 13 to 19.

Miss World Guyana 2026, Kelcia Nelson, has officially launched her Beauty With a Purpose project, Her First Lesson, a program aimed at empowering girls and young women across Guyana. The initiative focuses on helping participants develop confidence, independence, healthy decision-making skills, and a strong sense of self-worth.

Targeting girls between the ages of 13 and 19, the project is built around the principles of worth, voice, and value. Through community activities, educational resources, and digital engagement, Nelson hopes to provide young women with the tools and support needed to recognize their potential and make informed choices about their futures.

Speaking about the initiative, Nelson said, “Every girl receives a first lesson. The question is not whether she will be taught. The question is who will teach her.”

Her First Lesson marks Nelson’s first major Beauty With a Purpose initiative since being crowned Miss World Guyana 2026. The project will form the centerpiece of her advocacy work as she prepares to represent Guyana at the 75th Anniversary Edition of the Miss World Festival, which will be held in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, 2026.
