Andrea Romero brings meaning to elegance: “Fashion can have a purpose”

Andrea Romero, the reigning Miss World Colombia, has become a strong voice for female empowerment and purposeful fashion. The 21-year-old Barranquillera and international relations student uses her platform to promote leadership, education, and social awareness among young women.

With her project, “Una Corona con Narrativa Femenina” (A Crown with a Female Narrative), Andrea seeks to redefine beauty by emphasizing actions that inspire others. “My runway is one of actions that inspire the world,” she said, explaining that true elegance is reflected through empathy, education, and community service.

Andrea first gained national attention when a speech she gave on female empowerment went viral. She has since become an ambassador for change, promoting the idea that words and example can transform societies.

Representing the Atlántico region, Andrea combines modeling and advocacy, having participated in New York Fashion Week and the Paris Eco Couture Week. “Crowns are won with discipline, but they are sustained with consistency, coherence, and heart,” she said, underlining her belief that fashion can also serve a purpose.

Her current mission integrates art, social action, and education, inspiring new generations to see beauty as a force for good.

Andrea will represent Colombia at Miss World’s 75th Anniversary Edition, in 2026.
