Miss World Bahamas, Marechan Burrows, visited Cooperstown Primary School in Abaco over the weekend to take part in a surprise birthday celebration organized by GIFT for a young girl named Miracle.

The event brought together students and members of the school community to mark the occasion, creating a supportive and uplifting environment for Miracle, who has faced significant personal challenges at a young age. The celebration aimed to ensure she felt recognized, valued, and supported.

The initiative reflects GIFT’s work to support children. Bahamasair partnered in facilitating the trip, helping make the surprise celebration possible.

“Watching Miracle enjoy her birthday celebration, and seeing how a sense of family brought her such joy, was incredibly special and made all the challenges we faced along the way feel small”, Miss World Bahamas shared. 

Special recognition was given to Ms. Rebekah Duncan of Bahamasair for her role in coordinating the effort, which organizers said was instrumental in delivering the event for Miracle and her community. 

Marechan Burrows will represent the Bahamas at the 75th Anniversary Edition of Miss World, August 9 to September 5, in Vietnam.
