Josephine Emilie Meinert Bøttger was crowned Miss Denmark 2025 in the conclusion of the national contest, on September 13th, 2025. Now she has been conformed as Denmark’s representative at the 75th anniversary edition of Miss World, to be held in Vietnam, August 9 to September 5. 

Miss Denmark took place at Cirkusbygningen in Copenhagen, where she was chosen from the group of 30 finalists.

“Sometimes life writes a story we never expected.” For 24-year-old Josephine Bøttger, those words capture a journey shaped by a commitment to helping others. A professional ballet dancer from Hillerød, Josephine uses personal experiences to create positive change.

The youngest of four siblings, she grew up understanding the value of family and mutual support. That sense of independence led her to move abroad alone at 17 to pursue classical ballet. From studies at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts to performing with Junior Ballet Antwerp in Belgium, her international path taught her that true artistry is about discipline and emotional connection.

Josephine recently learned that she lives with a congenital heart condition once believed to have healed. Rather than allowing the diagnosis to define her, she transformed it into purpose. As a Board Member of the Children’s Club of the Danish Heart Foundation, she helps create supportive communities and meaningful experiences for families navigating the often unseen challenges of heart disease.

Her dedication to children and families is also central to her everyday life. As a kindergarten teacher and ballet instructor, she guides young people through their first steps of learning, growth, and self-confidence. Her additional volunteer work with Salto, supporting pregnant women and vulnerable families, further reflects her instinct to care for and uplift others.

She believes beauty is expressed through kindness, compassion, and the courage to turn adversity into hope. With that vision, she is prepared to bring her Beauty With a Purpose mission to the world stage.

“Ever since 2019, when I watched my dear friend Natasja Kunde reach the quarter-finals of Miss World in London, I have dreamed of standing on that same stage. To now hold the title of Miss Denmark, after such a magical journey and the unforgettable experience of competing at Miss World, truly feels like a dream come true”, said the recently crowned Miss Denmark.

Josephine was crowned by Emma Heyst, who represented Denmark at Miss World in 2025.
