After going viral last week with her powerful death metal performance, Ignacia Fernández edged out 19 other finalists to be crowned Miss World Chile 2025

After going viral last week with her powerful death metal performance at Miss World Chile’s semi-finals (she made it to the Top 3 in Talent), Ignacia Fernández edged out 19 other finalists to be crowned Miss World Chile 2025 in an event broadcast live by Chilevisión, on November 9th.

The 27-year-old singer who represented the Santiago commune of Las Condes, known as the lead vocalist of the metal band Decessus, captivated both the judges and the audience with her authenticity and artistic strength.

Her talent performance made her an international sensation, shared by thousands online and celebrated by major artists including Rosalía, Rita Ora, Evanescence, and Ellie Goulding.

“I’m so happy and still in shock,” Ignacia said moments after her coronation. “I never expected this. I’m deeply grateful for all the support and love I’ve received from people around the world.”

She continued, in an interview with a local newspaper after winning the national title:

“What matters most is showing who you are,” she believes. “Miss World is about having a purpose, and mine is to use my voice, literally and symbolically, to make a difference.”

As Miss World Chile 2025, Ignacia will represent her country at the 73rd Miss World Festival next year, bringing a bold perspective to the global stage.

In addition to being the creator and lead vocalist of Decessus, a progressive death-metal band that has performed in countries such as Finland and Germany, 27-year-old Ignacia Fernández is also recognized as one of Chile’s top models, represented by Elite Model Management. Beyond the stage and the runway, she is a passionate animal advocate.

Following her victory, she received a heartfelt message from the animal-rights organization Animal Libre, praising her courage and compassion:

“Ignacia, you have always protected animals in a very special way. You have a brave commitment, raising your powerful voice for them. Every little being that has been by your side is proud of the story you are writing. As you prepare to represent Chile, remember that you already are a winner: you carry the love of all animals with you.”

The Miss World Chile (Miss Chile Mundo) 2025 final took place at the Chilevisión studios in Santiago, in a dazzling live broadcast hosted by Júlio César Rodriguez. Bárbara Wolfenson, representing Viña del Mar, was named 1st Runner-Up.

Ignacia Fernández was crowned by Francisca Lavandero, an airplane pilot and Miss World Chile 2024, who proudly represented her country at the 72nd Miss World Festival earlier this year in Telangana, India.

Congratulations to the new Miss World Chile!
