Miss World and Miss England Semi-Finalist Join Forces in Coventry

When Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata Chuangsri @suchaaata , arrived in Coventry, she was welcomed by Miss England 2025 semi-finalist Sharan @simplysharan356 and her father, who guided the Miss World team through two days of community-focused visits.

For Sharan, the occasion was remarkable. Having learned to walk in high heels only two weeks earlier, she had entered Miss England not simply for the crown, but to use the competition as a platform to amplify her passion for social causes. She could hardly have imagined that so early in her journey, she would be hosting the reigning Miss World!

The first stop was with the Midland Langar Seva Society, a charity that provides hot meals every day to people in need, including the homeless. Opal joined Sharan in packing food parcels, travelling in the charity’s van to the distribution point, and handing out meals. She expressed how rewarding it was to see the impact of the initiative, especially when she learned that Sharan volunteers twice a week.

The visit continued at the Peace Garden at Coventry Canal Basin, where they enjoyed a performance by local dance group The Crew Girls and music from Sunit Music. Opal also met carers supported by the Carers Trust Heart of England, the focus of Sharan’s Miss England Beauty With a Purpose project. Sharan explained the vital role unpaid carers play in society and the importance of ensuring they feel valued and supported.

“BOPA’s involvement with Miss England goes beyond pageantry. It’s about bringing communities together, recognising compassion and leadership, and celebrating the spirit of service,” said Davinder Prasad, General Secretary of the British Organisation of People of Asian Origin (BOPA). “We are proud to support platforms that empower young people and promote unity, and we thank Miss World from the bottom of our hearts for visiting Coventry.”

Over those two days, Sharan’s commitment to local causes and Opal’s global advocacy came together in a shared purpose, showing that Miss World’s Beauty With a Purpose and Miss England’s commitment to it throughout the years, do make a difference in the lives of many.
