As part of Miss World’s 75th anniversary, the MWO is celebrating some of the women who have shaped its humanitarian legacy through Beauty With a Purpose, including Gabrielle Walcott, the Beauty With a Purpose Winner 2008.

Representing Trinidad & Tobago, Gabrielle Walcott received the award for her impactful work with the Just Because Foundation, where she helped raise funds to establish the first-ever pedriatic specialty unit in the English-speaking Caribbean dedicated to treating and caring for children with cancer. The initiative marked a landmark moment for pediatric healthcare in the region, expanding access to life-saving specialist treatment.

At the Miss World Festival 2008, held in South Africa, Walcott also achieved an exceptional result, finishing as Second Runner-Up.

Following her Miss World participation, Gabrielle Walcott continued to build a profile that blended public engagement, professional pursuits, and advocacy. She remained active in philanthropic and social initiatives, using her platform to support charitable causes, while also pursuing work in media, communications, and business, representing a new generation of Miss World titleholders who successfully transitioned from the global stage into influential professional and community roles.
