Ayubowan, Hello World! I am Anudi Gunasekara, proudly representing Sri Lanka, an island nation celebrated for its beauty, diversity, resilience, and the undeniable warmth of its people.Being the first-ever representative from Anuradhapura, the historic first capital and kingdom of Sri Lanka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, I am truly honored to bring my cultural heritage to the Miss World stage and share it with the world.With a degree in International Relations and French from one of Sri Lanka’s most renowned state universities, my goal is to join the foreign services and represent Sri Lanka on more prestigious global platforms like Miss World.My commitment to women’s rights has been a driving force in my life. I published a research paper on the Criminalization of Marital Rape in Sri Lanka, highlighting the urgent need for stronger legal protections for women in the country. At the age of 24, I founded Saheli, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating period poverty in Sri Lanka. I firmly believe menstrual health is a basic human right, and no woman should be deprived of it.For the past five years, I have been on a journey in modeling, learning to embrace my individuality and celebrating who I am. But deep inside, I’ve always known I was meant for something bigger. My purpose has never been just personal growth, I was born to be a voice for my country, to carry the pride of Sri Lanka to the world, and to represent the unbreakable spirit of its people.I am both excited and honored to represent Sri Lanka at the 72nd Miss World festival. It’s a privilege to showcase my country’s rich heritage and culture on such a prestigious platform. I am eagerly looking forward to meeting my fellow sisters from all around the world, and I’m determined to be the first Sri Lankan woman to win Miss World.
