Miss World

Sri Lanka’s Signature on the World Stage

Prathibha Liyanaarachchi’s first official appearance at Miss World 2026 was not simply an entrance, it was Sri Lanka taking flight.

For the Opening Ceremony, Miss World Sri Lanka wore a captivating creation inspired by the Blue Peafowl, a bird of striking beauty found in Sri Lanka’s natural landscape. In vivid turquoise, shimmering gold, and feather-like sculptural sleeves, the look translated the peafowl’s grace, confidence, and magnificent presence into a contemporary fashion statement. 🦚🇱🇰

The design’s peacock motif, luminous detailing, and flowing drape brought together heritage craftsmanship and a modern creative vision. It celebrated the hands, stories, colour, and feminine elegance that make Sri Lankan fashion distinctive.

With every step, Prathibha did more than wear a costume, she presented a living portrait of Sri Lanka: vibrant, artistic, proud, and unforgettable. As her Miss World journey begins, she carries the beauty of her island nation to the world with poise, purpose, and a truly creative eye. ✨
