“All of us have the goal of becoming Miss World, but not everyone can win it. Still, we’ve already won.” “Turn away from all evil and cultivate the good.” These were the words of our proud Sri Lankan representative, Anudi Gunasekara, at the 72nd Miss World pageant. For a woman to win the world today, beauty alone is no longer enough. Miss World is not just the most beautiful girl in the world. It requires intelligence, knowledge, empathy, vision, purpose, strength, and wisdom—all of which are equally important. What made Anudi stand out from many others who represented our country before, is that Anudi is the full package. ❤️ A fortunate girl born naturally beautiful, ❤️ A girl with height well beyond what is needed, ❤️ Someone who combined education with intelligence, ❤️ A person who dedicated years of effort toward her goal, ❤️ Someone who founded and actively worked for the Saheli Foundation. Going to Miss World isn’t something that happens in a day, two days, or a month. It’s a project, a huge process. This 25-year-old young woman dedicated years of her life to this project—she committed herself to the process. And that’s the hardest part! If Anudi wins the crown, it’s not just her victory. It’s ours. It’s a win for our country. Even if she doesn’t wear the crown, she is already a queen. To the young girls of Sri Lanka, Anudi is a great role model. To all of us, she is a source of pride. Whether she wins or not, this time she is writing Sri Lanka’s name beautifully across the world—and that’s for sure. 💜🙏 –Copied from Anisha Jayakody’s page #MissWorld2025 #anudigunasekara #missworldsrilanka
