Do you know? These pictures show importance and similarity. 1st image: Sushmita Sen, Miss India šŸ‡®šŸ‡³ and Miss Universe in 1994. 2nd image: Anudi Gunasekara, Miss Sri Lanka 2024, and Sri Lankan representer of Miss World 2025. Similarity: Susmitha Sen’s Miss Universe dress is handmade and it was designed by her mother. Sri Lankan Anudi Gunasekara participated in some events and competitions, she wore some costumes designed by Her Mother. The second picture uploaded by Anudi, is the traditional costume worn for Talent Competition Miss World 2025 hold in Hyderabad. Statements : Sushmita Sen in 1994- 1. "When I went for Miss India, we didn't have enough money to buy designer clothes and go to the stage as I needed four costumes. We are a middle-class family and we knew our limitations" 2. "We bought some fabrics from the Sarojini Nagar market. Right below where we lived, a man used to stitch peti coats in the garage. We gave the clothes to him and said see it is going to be shown on television so please make it good. With that fabric, he tailored my winning gown and my mom used the remaining fabric to make roses for the finishing part. Then we bought brand new black socks which my mom cut and put an elastic and that is what I wore as my gloves." Anudi Gunasekara posted on Facebook 1. ā€œSri Lanka is auditioning today for a place in the Talent Finals at Miss World and I wanted to share something close to my heart. For those who know me, dance has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old, when my dad first took me to a class. It became my joy, my expression, and my safe space. Sadly, I had to step away from it due to an injury years ago, and only returned to it while preparing for the Miss Sri Lanka finals. Coming back to dance after so long wasn’t easy, it pushed me mentally and physically. But Miss World is all about stepping out of your comfort zone and giving it everything you’ve got. Not to be the best in the room, but to bring out the best in you. So I am doing it for Sri Lanka and 5 y/o Anudi. Wish me luck as I give it my all today šŸ’™ Ps: my mom made this entire outfit, so I am carrying her love while I showcase my talent.ā€ 2. "As a developing nation, our access to resources, especially when it comes to wardrobe support for international pageantry is limited. It would be unfair to compare us directly with countries that dominate the pageant world with abundant backing. It’s easy to form opinions from the outside, but only those who have walked this path truly understand the challenges it brings. But we’re on our way, step by step. My mission has always been to showcase Sri Lankan talent on the global stage, and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has supported me, sending packages, even from miles away in Sri Lanka to Hyderabad. We may be a third world country, but we are a third world country with a first class, unbreakable spirit. And that spirit will shine through, no matter what we wear...." Importance: ā€œA mother’s shadow is always been with the children's successā€œ Ladies and Gentlemen, This is the back story I want to tell you.
