Decarbonising aviation with Hydrogen ✈️

This year, the Miss World Organisation tasked contestants to pitch a topic for debate which was discussed at the G20 Summit in 2023. Ever keen to promote #STEM and being a recent graduate of aerospace engineering, my chosen topic was climate change - specifically focusing on the use of science to implement new technologies which will lead to the development of a greener planet and the future of human sustainability.

Of 112 contestants, 25 were shortlisted to speak at Bharat Mandapam, and I had the pleasure of being selected as one of the 5 eventual winners after delivering a speech focusing on the importance of decarbonising aviation with hydrogen.

Using my communication skills to simplify engineering terminology and make the public more aware of this topic is something I’m extremely passionate about, and plan to continue doing long after my reign as Miss England / UK / Europe ends.

Collectively, #STEM graduates can make a colossal impact by using their expertise to educate the public about topics concerning the future of human sustainability on planet earth, serving as an incentive to excite the next generation of scientists and engineers - able to create the technology required to shape our planet’s future.
