Tonight, as we gather for the Beauty with a Purpose Gala Dinner, I want to share some unforgettable moments from my BWAP project, Saheli. To me, Saheli is more than just a project, it’s a movement. In a world where periods are still whispered about, I chose to shout the word loud enough for it to be heard, not just in Sri Lanka, but across international platforms. And I will continue to raise my voice. We didn’t stop at distributing sanitary pads, we sparked conversations. We didn’t stop at raising awareness, we worked to improve sanitation facilities. We didn’t stop there either we engaged with government officials, and today, Saheli has been recognized in Parliament of Sri Lanka. This is only the beginning. With each step, we carry the stories of countless women and girls who remind us why purpose truly matters.
